Duck Lake Trail

Duck Lake Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The trail to Duck Lake is a wonderful hike for those who enjoy watching birds. Beaver ponds abound along the way and make for prime bird habitat. It’s also a terrific place from which to watch for cute mammals. This trail is special in the fall, when the many aspens turn bright yellow and orange.

Sign the trail register, then from the trailhead for signed Duck Lake Trail 732, pass through the gate, making sure that you close it behind you. Cattle graze in the area, and you might see some of them on the trail. Hike up the trail; the grade is mostly moderate but sometimes a bit steep. The trail passes through a forest of evergreens mixed with aspens, so it’s very colorful in the fall."
