Conejos Peak Semiloop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"If you like being up high, then this is the trail for you. About one hour from the trailhead, you’ll reach 12,000 feet, and you’ll stay at or above the tree line for the duration of the hike. Look for wildflowers and wildlife, including weasels and ptarmigan, as you ascend Conejos Peak, the highest point in Conejos County.
From the trailhead, which is just off the road to the east, begin hiking signed Trail 720, which is just across the road to the west. The moderate-grade trail starts in subalpine forest. You soon will reach a fork and the wilderness boundary. The trail to the right (northwest) links up with the trail to Tobacco Lake."
