Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This route has numerous mines and spectacular views. Pass through historic mining area on way to Windy Ridge Bristlecone Pine Scenic Area, which features 1000-year-old trees and great views.

Three hiking trails depart from Kite Lake Campground to 14,000-ft. Mount Bross, Mount Lincoln and Mount Democrat. Lower portion of road, when dry, is suitable for passenger cars. Upper sections are steep and rough. High clearance is recommended."

Beautiful scenery, gorgeous wildflowers and great hiking, camping and fishing! What more could you ask for. This trail is fairly easy (in fact, we see minivans and Hondas at the top quite frequently. However, the views from the top are outstanding! Enjoy.
