The walk to Lukens Lake is exquisite during the wildflower season, usually June–mid-July, for the trail takes you past one lush, forest-ringed meadow after another, each a blanket of flowers. The creek banks are equally colorful, decorated with tall, colorful stalks. The expansive meadows at the southeast end of Lukens Lake are the final highlight, where you can enjoy concentric rings of color, each indicating a different species growing an increasing distance from the lakeshore.
