Yosemite National Park is heaven on earth. With the Mariposa Battalion, the first English-speaking party to see Yosemite Valley, was Lafayette Bunnell. He wrote: “The grandeur of the scene was softened by the haze that hung over the valley—light as gossamer—and by the clouds which partially dimmed the higher cliffs and mountains. This obscurity of vision merely increased the awe with which I beheld it, and as I looked, a peculiar exalted sensation seemed to fill my whole being, and I found my eyes in tears with emotion.”

My other half and I were impressed at the beauty and ease of the trails. Though the trail markings were not consice enough to determine what trail you were on, the length of each trail and the fact that it all ended up in the same loop made it easy to see all of the natural sites presented. At the time of our hike and the dryness of the climate at the time, we were not able to see any water come out of Chimney Creek, but that did not deter the enjoyment of the easy hike. One bottle of water and an apple a piece was enough to sustain us throughout the hike. Over all I have to say that the shady trees and scenery made the hike quite an lovely day.
