A companion peak to Mount Lyell; if you liked Lyell, there is more to keep the adventure going. Great western views. The trek to Mount Maclure travels the same route as that to neighboring Mount Lyell, making it very tempting to climb both peaks in the same trip. From the Tuolumne Meadows trailhead, take the John Muir Trail down Lyell Canyon, along the Lyell Fork of the Tuolumne River.
