John Muir Trail is a hiking and horse trail in Mono County, Madera County, and Tuolumne County, California. It is within Ansel Adams Wilderness and Yosemite National Park. It is 17.3 miles long and begins at 8,720 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 34.7 miles with a total elevation gain of 6,280 feet. The Donohue Pass and Island Pass saddles can be seen along the trail. There are also meadows along the trail.
