Old La Honda - Tunitas Creek

Old La Honda - Tunitas Creek Professional Review and Guide

"This is a challenging ride because of its climbing, but all of the harder hills are in the big loop. It’s possible to skip the smaller loop to Pigeon Point, but its 400' of easy gain adds almost nothing to the overall challenge. If you’re ?t enough to do the climbing on the big loop, you can add the small loop with no trouble. Those 17 miles are so nice it would be a shame to skip them.

The ride begins in the quietly affluent town of Woodside, and the first miles travel along the pretty back streets of town to the base of Old La Honda Road. This must be one of the most popular roads in this region for getting out of the suburbs and up into the mountains, and with good reason: it’s a classic bike road, one wide lane climbing through beautiful, leafy woods, and no traffic."
