Tillie Creek Campground

Tillie Creek Campground Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This is not the forest primeval. Tillie Creek is what a scout camp or small-town park used to be 30 years ago. There are child-friendly activities in the area, and Wofford Heights is just around the corner for a quick ice cream or a fast-food run.

Look out over Isabella Lake and see the watery grave of ancient American Indian villages, historic towns, ranches, and farms—all now submerged. When the dam was built in 1953, water filled the Kern River Valley. When the lake is low, look for a series of snags to find the former courses of the North and South Forks of the Kern."

Breath takingly beautiful with two lakes and a huge waterfall. We were further into the site over the bridge seperating the lakes. Slightly more secluded which was nice. Don`t forget this sight is at 8,500ft it can be very cold at night given the altitude.
