Perimeter Loop Professional Review and Guide
"Foothill Regional Park sits in the rolling hills at the northeast corner of Windsor between Highway 101 and Chalk Hill Valley. The 211-acre parkland was a cattle ranch until the mid-1980s. The land is covered in oak savanna that is scattered with several species of oaks, bay, madrone, and buckeye trees. Many of the trails that weave through the rolling hills are old ranch roads. This hike loops around the perimeter of the park on several connecting trails. The hike passes three ponds and climbs oak-dotted hills to scenic overlooks of the Santa Rosa Plain, the Russian River Valley, and the town of Windsor."
