Dorst Campground Professional Review and Guide
"Dorst Campground is about family. On arrival you’ll notice squads of children splashing in the nonthreatening Dorst Creek or racing up and down the grassy slopes, as well as moms pushing their infants around in strollers. Most of the folks are tent campers laagered together in the tentonly loops, and their children quickly become friends. I saw lots of dads relaxing in aluminum lawn chairs, free and happy."
--Jane & Hans Huber with Bill Mai, The Best In Tent Camping: Southern California (Menasha Ridge Press).
The campground is really picturesque with a great creekside trail to hop onto. Walking distance from a camp store and hamburger/ice cream stand. Also walking distance from a very pricey (didn't try it) restaurant. Just watch out if you're a tent camper. Lots of huge RVs, Hummers, loud generators, etc.
