San Jacinto Peak Via Fuller Ridge Trail Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"From Black Mountain, the craggy spine of Fuller Ridge dips downward and then soars upward, like a long kite string, to Folly Peak. Broken gendarmes and huge granite outcroppings make it one of the most rugged mountain backbones in Southern
California. Weather-toughened pines and ?rs cling to its precipitous slopes.
The Fuller Ridge Trail threads its way around these gray-white gendarmes, ?rst on the north side of the ridge, then on the south, from the Black Mountain Road to the Deer Springs Trail below San Jacinto Peak. Views are magni?cent, particularly down into the wild and beautiful gorge of upper Snow Creek and
beyond to the desert. Much less traveled than the heavily used trails out of Idyllwild and the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway, this ranks as one of the best trips in the San Jacintos."
