A big sky and Lassen Peak dominate this big lake in remote mountains. Built by the Pacific Gas & Electric Company to supplement water supplies for the North Fork Feather River hydropower projects, Mountain Meadow Reservoir is wide and shallow. The only recreational facility is the launch ramp adjacent to the Indian Ole Dam. Private lands surround the lake. Summer days are warm, but the nights are cool. Spring and autumn days have fewer motorboats and cooler weather.
