    Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

    "From Weed, drive 11 miles north on I-5 to the Edgewood/Gazelle exit; turn southwest and drive 6 miles to Gazelle. From Gazelle, continue southwest on the Gazelle-Callahan Road for about 15 miles to the Kangaroo Lake turnoff. There, turn south onto FR 41N08 and follow the signs for about 7 miles to the campground.

    About the campground: The lake is within a 5-minute walk of the campsites, and a paved trail leads to the accessible fishing pier. Covering 25 acres, and 110 feet deep, the lake is regularly stocked with catchable rainbow and brown trout. Motorized boats are not allowed. A self-guided interpretive trail connects to the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail at the top of the ridge. Elevation 6,500 feet. Stay limit 14 days. Open June through October."
