Union Creek canyon is not as spectacular as some other Trinity Alps canyons, but can’t be beat for being just plain nice. The hiking is easy and campsites are numerous with plentiful firewood. Fishing is excellent in Union Creek for feisty, pan-sized trout up to the confluence with the creek from Bullards Basin. Fishing is not quite as good up at Union Lake, but the side trip there provides opportunities to fish and swim, or scramble up to Landers Lake.
