Long Canyon, Lake Anna, and Billy Be Damn

Weaverville, California

Long Canyon, Lake Anna, and Billy Be Damn Professional Review and Guide

"All three of these lakes are set in dramatic basins, each with its own particular charm. Combine the lakes with lush meadows, stellar wildflower displays, excellent views, rugged peaks, and the opportunity to enjoy a spectacular sunrise, and you have the necessary ingredients for a memorably spectacular Trinity Alps experience. This trip offers plenty of diverse experiences as well, with striking contrasts between the depths of forested Long and Bowerman canyons and high places such as Bee Tree Gap and Little Stonewall Pass. Solitude is almost guaranteed at the lakes, which are accessible only by off-trail travel. However, if you become too lonely at Lake Anna, Billy Be Damn Lake, or Echo Lake, you could always extend your trip by an extra day or two to include the much more popular Four Lakes Loop nearby."
