This route follows four different creeks on a loop through some of the Alps’ most varied terrain—both physically and “socially.” Shady forests, vast meadows, lush flower gardens, a secluded lake, and endless vistas come in rapid succession. On the social side, you have plenty of company on the Swift Creek Trail, but fellow hikers are few and far between on the rest of the route (especially along Parker Creek, a seldom-used trail despite its proximity to a popular trailhead). Highlights: A scenic loop that leads up Swift Creek then down Parker Creek; beautiful Mumford Meadow and spectacular views of the Alps from the top of Red Rock Mountain.
