East Weaver Lake; Rush Creek Lakes Professional Review and Guide
"The Rush Creek Lakes (there are four, plus assorted ponds) are close to Weaverville as the bird flies, but birds are about all you’ll find here on most days. People just don’t seem to believe the kind of spectacular scenery found in Rush Creek Lakes’ craggy cirque could be so close to town. It can and is. (Please note: This off-trail route is the recommended way to the lakes, but not the only way. Hikers who don’t like steep, off-trail scrambles should use the Rush Creek Lakes Trail to walk a path the whole way. Highlights: A steep hike (partly off-trail) to a sparkling little chain of lakes set deep in the jaws of a rocky cirque."
