East Weaver and Rush Creek Lakes Professional Review and Guide
"In 9 miles from Weaverville to the trailhead you climb 5000 vertical feet. The last 1.7 miles are on one-lane road, hanging rather precariously on steep-sided Weaver Bally Mountain. Another 0.9 mile past the trailhead is the Weaver Bally Lookout from where you can gaze straight down Weaverville’s chimneys and enjoy a lofty view of several hundred square miles of forests, mountains, and canyons. A trip to Monument Peak and East Weaver and Rush Creek lakes won’t be complete without a stop at the lookout."
