Deer Creek and Four Lakes Loop to Long Canyon

Deer Creek and Four Lakes Loop to Long Canyon Professional Review and Guide

"The Four Lakes Loop circles 8162-foot Siligo Peak, switchbacking over three spur ridges in the process and visiting Luella, Diamond, Summit, and Deer lakes. Along the way are views in all directions of the highest peaks and deepest canyons in the Trinity Alps. Sheer rock faces at the head of Deer Creek and several peaks higher than 8000 feet illustrate the mixed-up geology of this part of the Alps, offering abundant rock climbing opportunities as well. The approach up Deer Creek canyon from Morris Meadow is through a lush mix of forests, meadows, and alder and willow flats. Wide expanses of fragrant wildflowers bloom in the high basins through July and into August."
