The glacial cirque between Vandever Mountain and White Chief Peak contains excellent skiing. This north-facing cirque holds the snow the longest of any of the routes in the Mineral King area. There was adequate snow in mid-July 1998 to ski White Chief Pass and the large bowl between White Chief Peak and Vandever Peak. Granted, 1998 was a heavy snow year, but this example illustrates that this is a likely place to find late-season skiing.
