The circumnavigation of the Kaweahs takes the ski mountaineer over the western portion of the High Sierra Route, a classic trans-Sierra traverse. This may be the most demanding multi-day trip in the guide, but it has everything—great ski descents, superb alpine scenery, rugged terrain, extreme remoteness, and a summit seldom visited in the summer, let alone the winter or spring. After the first day of your trip there is a good chance you will not see anyone for the rest of this mini-expedition.
