One of the most beautiful locations in the Sierra is the stunning cirque appropriately named “Valhalla.” This sub-alpine basin cradles the lovely Hamilton Lakes and features a series of waterfalls pouring down the steep walls of the cirque into the twin lakes. Around the rim of the basin are a series of spectacular granite spires and domes. On the north side of the cirque is the incredible blade of granite known as the Angel Wings, while on south side is the graceful fin known as Hamilton Dome.
