Porcupine Wash to Monument Mountain Trail Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"The country is open with scattered catclaw, creosote, and yucca. Up on the ridge at about 3,950 feet, the summit will present itself—as well as a suitable route around a series of deep canyons leading to the north ridge. This ridge requires more rock scrambling than other possible routes to the east, but the approach is more direct with fewer ups and downs. Upon reaching the summit look for the peak register to learn of the experiences of previous climbers. More important, enjoy the spellbinding view with desert basins and ranges stretching as far as the eye can see. A long, strenuous point-o-point day hike or overnighter to the highest peak in the Hexie Range."
