Pine City Trail Professional Review and Guide
"The trip includes many of the highlights one would expect to see in a desert park such as this. Starting in a forest of Joshua trees, the trail wanders along a wide sandy path that is easy to hike on, and enters a boulder-filled juniper and pinyon pine forest. Many species of cacti grow here, and there are spectacular and abundant wildflowers in the early spring. Some of the pine trees have matured to remarkable heights for such an arid landscape, especially those that flourish in the basins below the main trail."
