Joshua Mtn. Professional Review and Guide
"Joshua Mtn. would be an insignificant hill on the flank of Queen Mtn. were it not for the enormous granite block with a gigantic overhanging corner on its summit. The mountain is also known as Indian Head because imaginative travelers driving south from Twentynine Palms can make out the chiseled profile of a stern face watching over the desert. Joshua Mtn. is a short and fun cross-country hike that passes a great variety of cacti, climbs a wash, and then circles the base of the summit to an easier scramble up the backside. Children who like rock scrambling will enjoy the route, but it is not recommended for those who are unsteady on their feet or uncomfortable with heights."
