"This nature trail travels to the top of a hill, providing a view over the Yucca Valley and the eastern end of the park. There is a register at the summit, as well as a bench. The trail follows a relatively gentle route as it climbs 320 feet. Moderate loop to lofty viewpoint of surrounding peaks and town of Yucca Valley."

This is super-easy out-and-back trail. There is a bit of a gain, but it's not too bad. Once at the top (and along the way), there is a nice view of Yucca Valley and its sand dunes. To the west, you will have San Gorgonio watching over you the whole time. I was there in winter, late afternoon and there was only one other pair hiking on the trail besides us (which I find is always a bonus). The trail head is just on the border of Joshua Tree National Park, and it's tucked far enough away from the main entrances that not many people seem to go there. http://www.flickr.com/photos/kaliseviltwin/tags/highviewnaturetrail/
