Coxcomb Mountains Trail

Coxcomb Mountains Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The Coxcombs are likely the most rugged and perpendicular mountains in Joshua Tree National Park, in its wildest and least-visited northeast corner. Their relative isolation alone, far from any services, makes their exploration a true wilderness experience. The recommended starting point for this hike provides the easiest access into the Coxcombs. It is also the only road access from the north, the other being from the south at Pinto Wells. An out-and-back day hike or overnight trip into the wildest and most remote corner of the park with hidden basins, expansive vistas, and jagged jumbles of granite in every direction."
