Wildflower season reaches a dramatic crescendo in early summer along Sagehen Creek, where a short, easy trail provides access for young and old alike. Those who hike all the way to the end of the trail will have the bonus of a nice view of Stampede Reservoir.

This is an easy single track trail to stampede reservoir. There is access to the creek several places along the trail. Many wildflower groups where there the day I hiked. This is an off leash dog friendly trail with a flat trail system. Great beginner hike or enjoyable dog romp!

Enjoyed the scenery on this hike, culminating in the Stampede Reservoir with several Western Grebes. Also spotted a Bald Eagle. There were several other groups of hikers on the trail despite no trailhead marking. Recommend mid-October for the peak of the fall leaf colors, especially the aspens.
