Lacey Valley Trail

Lacey Valley Trail Professional Review and Guide

"Lovers of wildlife and wildflowers should find plenty to admire on this easy and relatively short stroll through Lacey Valley. Thanks to the work of several conservation organizations of the Northern Sierra Partnership, the public now has access to these beautiful lands holding the headwaters of the Little Truckee River and acres of verdant meadowlands in Lower and Upper Lacey Meadows. The trail also visits stands of lush lodgepole-pine forest and an old homestead.

Since sheep occasionally graze in this area, and a substantial amount of wildlife use the meadows, you must have dogs under strict voice control. Otherwise, leave Fido at home. Also note that the southern lakeshore of nearby Webber Lake is closed to the public until 2017. Please respect the private property of Webber Lake Ranch on the way to the trailhead and on the hike. Mosquitoes may be a nuisance when the flowers are at their peak."
