Patrick’s Point State Park-Agate, Penn, And Abalone Campgrounds Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"Most beautiful of all California’s state parks, Patrick’s Point is full of enchanted Sitka-spruce groves and dizzying cliffs running down to ancient sea stacks, sea lions, and the foaming green Pacific. The three campground loops in the park, Agate, Penn, and Abalone, are under trees— the campsites nestled in bracken fern, sword fern, and salmonberry.

The Sitkas, with their silver moss, crinkled bark, and golden cones, loom out of the mist. Each site is private, secluded, and special. On the beach, find agates and sometimes jade. Surf fish for perch and flounder. With the Yurok village of Sumeg in the park, and Trinidad nearby with the marine lab and party fishing boats, there’s lots to do with kids."
