Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The road through the canyon can be muddy and slippery in wet conditions and is best avoided after precipitation. It also intersects with numerous other forest roads and other 4WD tracks, making it a main backbone road for exploration of the numerous tracks within the Humboldt-Toiybe National Forest. The trail, which is adorned One of the sections of wide shelf road with the sagebrush and a few pinyon and juniper pine trees, eventually exits the canyon and ends at the intersection with Nevada 338. The road is relatively well maintained with a few rocks and some erosion, which gives it a difficulty rating of 2. Special Attractions: Large network of forest roads and numerous 4WD tracks off the main trail to explore. Route through scenic Risue Canyon. Shaded backcountry camping or picnicking spots."
