Volcanic Lakes Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This adventurous trip climbs steeply from lush subalpine forest to the stark alpine beauty of the Monarch Divide. Upon climbing to the ridge, you are rewarded with wide views of the gigantic chasms formed by South and Middle Fork Kings rivers. For a short distance in a section west of the park boundary, Kings Canyon is one of the deepest canyons in North America (from 2260 feet to 10,051 feet). The many lakes found on this trip afford fine camping, wonderful fishing, rock climbing, and solitude."
