According to National Geographic, a backpacker in Sequoia National Park can hike to a spot that is farther from roads than any other place in the contiguous 48 states. And, like Kings Canyon National Park to the north, only a small part of Sequoia is accessible by car and RV. But neither fact prevents easy access to magnificent examples of the trees for which the park is named. Campgrounds included in this eTrail are: Dorst, Lodgepole, Buckeye Flat, Potwisha, Atwel Mill, Cold Springs, and South Fork.

Enjoyable overnight in the Snow at Lodgepole. Majority of campground was closed, so unfortunity it seemed more like car camping. Bear-boxes were readily available and the heated outhouses with flush toilets was a pleasant reprive after a cold night.
