General Sherman Tree

General Sherman Tree Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The General Sherman Tree is truly one of the world’s great wonders, reaching heights near 275 feet and a volume of more than 52,500 feet, and achieving a circumference at its base of more than 100 feet. In the 1800s, a skeptical public refused to believe the existence of such massive conifers.

Two relatively easy routes allow visitors to admire General Sherman: a very short, handicapped-accessible trail from a shuttle bus stop off Generals Highway and a half-mile, paved path from the General Sherman parking lot (also accessible by shuttle bus)."
