Lake Davis Professional Review and Guide
"There’s nothing quite like fly fishing Lake Davis from mid-June through July, when the damsels are out and about. This one-of-a-kind experience scores a perfect 10 rating. During other months of the season, the fishing still rates quite high by anyone’s standards. Lake Davis is not particularly deep, except near the dam. The majority of this water can be fly fished effectively, especially around the huge, lush weed beds. These sprout up along the western shore during the summer months. Types of Fish: Primarily rainbow trout, also some browns and a large population of illegally stocked largemouth bass and northern pike. This fly-fishing chapter describes the "where, when, and how" for fishing in this area. It includes a full-page map and information on the known hatches, suggested equipment to use, the best flies to use, season, limits, nearby accommodations, and camping."
