Antelope Recreation Area provides camping, boating, and fishing in a lovely forested mountain setting. Located on Upper Indian Creek, Antelope Lake is the northernmost reservoir of the State Water Project. Its recreational features include three campgrounds, three day-use areas, and a three-lane boat ramp. The campgrounds have piped water, flush or vault toilets, stoves or fire circles, tables with benches, and parking spaces. The Forest Service permits camping only at the 194 campsites. Antelope Recreation Area is a fee area. The California Department of Fish and Game stocks the lake with rainbow and brook trout. Summer days are warm, but the nights are cool. Spring and autumn days have fewer motor boats and cooler weather.
