North Lake Tahoe Regional Park Trail

North Lake Tahoe Regional Park Trail Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"The kids who live in this neighborhood are lucky. This is a park where bears show up in the outfield and squirrels steal baseballs. Moreover, there are more than 8 miles of trails packed in this 125-acre park. Some trails follow the contours, while others climb 300 feet to the park’s North Ridge Trail—the highest trail in the park. Rather than follow a mapped route, be guided by your sense of adventure. Maps are posted at intersections of dirt roads that become groomed trails for cross-country skiing in the winter. Difficulty ratings are even posted to help you decide which route to take. Unsigned singletrack paths are interspersed throughout the park—nice. Several trails extend into the adjoining USDA Forest Service land. A 1.2-mile paved bike path weaves through the lower east end of the park and connects to California Highway 267. Better yet is the trail north to Regency Way and striking distance to the Tahoe Rim Trial at Brockway Summit."
