General Creek Ed Z’berg Sugar Pine Point State Park

General Creek (Ed Z’berg Sugar Pine Point State Park) Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This 2,000-acre park contains nearly 2 miles of shoreline. However, the campground is on the opposite side of the highway from the lake, in a tall pine forest. Its sites are well spaced, affording relative privacy.

The Dolder Nature Trail makes a 2-mile loop through the lakeside forest; the General Creek Loop (for hikers and mountain bikers) makes a 5-mile circuit from the campground to Lily Pond through meadows and stands of lodgepole pine. Also of interest is the Hellman-Ehrman Mansion, a Queen Anne−style residence that was once the summer home of a frontier banker. Elevation 6,365 feet. Stay limit 15 days June through September; 30 days October through May. Open all year."
