Blackwood Canyon

Tahoe City, California

Blackwood Canyon Professional Review and Guide

"An easy semiloop trip awaits hikers of all ages and conditioning in the nearly flat area on the south side of Blackwood Creek. The short trip offers opportunities to wander over to the lazy creek, where hikers could enjoy a picnic lunch or while away the hours skipping rocks across the surface. Early-season visitors will enjoy a nice display of wildflowers along the banks of the creek and numerous side streams."

This a beautiful, majestic beginner trail, especially in the fall with all the changing colors. The trees, leaves and streams make you feel like you are walking in Washington. Easy to navigate, clear single track, this is a perfect 1.5 hour kid friendly, dog friendly trail.
