O’Melveny Park Professional Review and Guide
"This surprisingly rugged park on the northwestern city limits is the second-largest city park in Los Angeles. The lower reaches feature some lovely meadows and towering eucalyptus trees, and are a popular destination for locals. The trail network, like that of Griffith Park, is a bit on the unmaintained side: old ranch roads mix with wildlife trails and use-trails, nothing seems to be signed, and there's not a park map in sight. This outer loop utilizes some scrambly use-trails and paths, and will be a challenge for those not accustomed to a stair-climbing workout routine. Cross the bridge at the southwest corner of the parking area and stay on the pavement, passing some tall sycamores and an unexpected citrus grove--remnants of the region's past as the Cascade Ranch."
