To the south and east of Sweetwater Reservoir spread sensuously rounded hills, dotted with sage, pepper trees, and rare coastal varieties of cholla and barrel cactus. Running-shoe footprints overlap the linear marks of mountain bike tires and the inverted-U impressions of horseshoes on the trail that traverses the grassy slopes overlooking the reservoir.

We stayed in the camp ground over the weekend, which was well maintained and is close to town. The camp ground has several parks for the children, hiking trails, fishing at the reservoir, RV electrical hookup, and corals for horses. Access to the multi use trails was easy from the camp ground. Good for improptu weekend outdoor fun for the family. Views are better farther out of town, but that's not what this location is really about.
