Reflection Lake and Manzanita Lake Trail

Reflection Lake and Manzanita Lake Trail Professional Review and Guide

"It seems only fair that paradise, especially in wintertime, should be earned. Such is not the case with these two precious jewels for lakes. Reflection and Manzanita Lakes are so approachable, so easy to explore, it seems there should be some sweat equity to endure. There isn’t. From the shapely shorelines and golden willow shoots to the incomparable views of Chaos Crags and Lassen Peak, the scenes on this snowshoe trek can be appreciated as if you were at a favorite art museum. For this is the time when these contrasting lakes are nicely iced over with a crown of snow, and the countless bright blue Steller’s jays squawk and thrash loudly amid the conifers, interrupting what would be otherwise total peace. Although this photogenic region is brisk with tourists in the summer, you’re apt to share it with perhaps an occasional snowshoer or cross-country skier during the winter months."
