    Stinson Beach Professional Guide

Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook

"This is a friendly beach break north of San Francisco. Stinson Beach is a large crescent-shaped white sand beach. It faces southwest and usually has the best surf in spring and fall. The beach break here is forgiving and consistent, with some fun peaks. Wave shape can vary depending on the size of the swell, direction of the swell, and tide height. You might want to bring two or three different boards.

Stinson Beach has had numerous shark sightings over the years, but there have been only two reported attacks, one in August 1998 and the other in May 2002. Unfortunately, both victims were surfers, and each attack resulted in major injuries."
