It is 23.2 miles long and begins at 8,222 feet altitude. Traveling the entire trail is 46.8 miles with a total elevation gain of 10,501 feet. The Highland Lakes Lower Campground and Bloomfield Campground camp sites can be seen along the trail. There are also drinking water, restrooms, a spring, meadows, and parking along the trail.
