Taylor Creek Visitor Center Nature Trails Professional Review and Guide

"Casual hikers, tourists, and sightseers flock to the Taylor Creek Visitor Center during the summer to enjoy a wide range of activities. A handful of short, gently graded nature trails provide opportunities to experience a number of diverse habitats and points of interest. The highlight for many is the Taylor Creek Stream Profile Chamber, where awestruck visitors have a belowground view of the creek and, in autumn, an opportunity to see Kokanee salmon during spawning season."

Ropi Lake is a beautiful destination of itself; plus, it was a lot less crowded than Lake of the Woods. Note that after you cross the outlet from Lake of the Woods, there are a number of improperly placed ducks and it is very easy to be led too low next to the Lake of the Woods outlet and lose the trail. Keep looking to the right as you move around the knob towards Ropi and stay higher up until you are past the rocky surface and can see the trail again.
