Lower Skyline Professional Review and Guide
"This loop in the lower section of Skyline Wilderness Park is a fantastic hike through rugged hills that starts right on the edge of the city of Napa. With isolated vistas overlooking San Pablo Bay and Marie Creek Canyon, the hike offers varied scenery and solitude just minutes from the downtown area.
Skyline Wilderness Park is the city of Napa’s awesome backyard park. With 850 acres, it is one of the largest blocks of public land in the Napa Valley. The park consists of a cluster of high hills and canyons in the southeast corner of the city, hills that form the southern wall of the Napa Valley. Centered on the Marie Creek Canyon, the area is rugged and undeveloped. Most of the park is covered in forests, chaparral, and open hillsides. Occasional rocky outcrops highlight the walls of the canyon."
