Heaps Peak Arboretum Professional Review and Guide
"The Heaps Peak Arboretum is one of the best places to learn how to recognize trees commonly found in the San Bernardino Mountains. The handicappedaccessible trail makes a short loop through the forest, stopping at interpretive signs identifying Coulter and sugar pine, black oak, white fir, and incense cedar, and ending at a grove of giant sequoias. It is open yearround 24-hours a day, and is well worth a stop while driving between Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear. Volunteer staff are usually available on weekends from 11 a.m.–3 p.m. to answer questions."
