Middle Caribou Lakes Loop Professional Guide
Detailed Trail Description from our Guidebook
"This 7-mile-plus loop is probably the most popular hike in Caribou Wilderness. However, such popularity is relative, as the area sees very light traffic, even in the most heavily traveled parts. Of those who do set out from the Caribou Lake Trailhead, most don’t complete the entire loop, preferring to stop at the closest lakes to the trailhead.
While the distance is short enough for a comfortable dayhike, backpackers will find good campsites at several locations. The mostly forested loop visits numerous lakes and ponds, some of which offer fine swimming and angling. Adding a side trip to Emerald, Rim, and Cypress lakes provides even more desirable locations, as well as sweeping views that are lacking along the loop route."
