This is an outstanding through hike for the experienced. You'll tackle two 12K passes and walk through arguably the most beautiful scenery in the Sierras. We did it in reverse (South Lake to Florence Lake)as a 14 day trek with eight 13 year old Boy Scouts, who later would hike the whole Muir Trail. There's plenty of fish. Use bear precautions, especially in Le Conte Cnyn. Be prepared for any weather including snow in July.
